St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations

St. Patrick’s Day is a well-known holiday throughout the US. Americans of Irish decent hold the day as a cultural icon and even non-Irish around the world join in on the party. Gotham’s New York Limo Service wants to give you some tips on celebrating St Patrick’s Day to its fullest.

Green Gathering

On St. Patrick’s day you don’t have to look far to find a crown made up of the many shades of green.  Parades are one of the biggest events of the day and almost any major city has one. New York City is up there with the best as one of the best cities to celebrate in, not to mention having one of the best parades in the country. This parade is one of the most celebrated on the web as can be found here.

Irish Pubs

It isn’t St. Patrick’s Day without a good drink and on this holiday you can find the best Irish drinks in one of the many Irish pubs in the city. Irish whiskey is said to be the oldest whiskey in the world and its fine traditions have not been lost to time. A sipper of Jameson, Bushmills, Tullamore Dew or any of the other Irish whiskies will top the day off just right. Ireland’s other famous drink is, of course, Guinness. A beer like no other, this dry stout is a requirement for any Irish drinker. Drink responsibly however and be sure to book a New York Limo as a DD ahead of time.

Shamrock Talk

It is well-known that the Irish can party, but one part of it stands out above the rest. The Irish toast is something that no party or gathering should end without. A good round of limericks, rhymes and blessings are the perfect cap to a good time. The Irish have had years of friendly drinking to create some of the best toasts you can find, the kind that make you think for a second then roar with laughter in agreement. Remember  Érin go Bráugh (Free Ireland) and Sláinte (Cheers) for the big day.

Food

Drinking is not the only thing Irish are well-known for. Their hearty dishes are not only perfect for long days of work, but for soaking up remnants of earlier festivities. Things like the iconic Irish Stew, Sheperd’s Pie, Barm Brack and many more are a great choice to celebrate the big day.

Safety

St. Patrick’s Day is a big day for partying and you need to plan ahead. Renting a New York Limo to drive you around, be it to one bar or many, and make sure you and your group get home safely. The best celebration is the one where everyone makes it home in one piece.
