Post 73 of 142

Planning for the Fourth of July can be tedious and at times downright difficult. The fact is that coming up with ideas is not everyone’s strong suit and our New York Limousine service would like to help with a few ideas. These are a few things of many that you can do in New York City for the Fourth of July.

  1. This Fourth of July you can take your children to the Prospect Park Audubon Center to learn about the Bald Eagle and its role in shaping our counties identity. Even if it’s just you and some friends this could be a good option and it’s free!
  2. Lefferts Historic House Museum is hosting a free adventure for kids. Offering the chance to get into the patriotic spirit by creating a plumed hat to wear as well as getting to sign their personal John Hancock to a recreation of the declaration of independence.
  3. Nathans Famous is hosting its annual Fourth of July hot dog eating contest. Starting at noon, this free event will kick off with large crowds cheering on contestants stuffing the faces with hot dogs.
  4. In the Robert F. Wagner Park, a free performance from a community band can be seen. The versatile performers will dazzle their audience with songs ranging from Sousa to Gaga. Starts at 9pm.
  5. At the DiMenna Children’s History Museum you can enjoy the day learning about historical legends and their accomplishments. You can watch a performance by Benjamin and Deborah Franklin that will not only teach your kids but make them laugh. They can learn about the origins of fireworks and even paint their own fireworks display when they are done. There is also a presidential scavenger hunt at 11am that will keep you and the kids entertained.
  6. The Annual Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks are starting at 9pm. There will be performances from Katy Perry and Kenny Chesney as well as a dazzling display of over 40,000 fireworks that have been appropriately called “Ignite the Night”.
  7. Visit Peter J. Sharp Children’s Glen in Central Park for some down-to-earth story telling. The children will be dazzled by some of our nation’s most meaningful tales told by Linda Russell. This is a great free event for children to explore a bit of America’s history.

These are just a few ideas on activities to do with your kids on the Fourth. Something to think about is renting a New York Limo to chauffer you around throughout the day and even drive you to the fireworks display. Planning ahead can create a stress free relaxed day for you and your family and Gotham Limo wants to help that happen. The Fourth of July is an important day in our history and is celebrated with great amounts of patriotism so help us do our part in creating a wonderful experience for you and your kids and check out our site. This is a day to remember and we all want to honor the memory of those who fought for us.
