Comic Con Advice From a New York Limo Company

Post 67 of 142

New York is a busy city that can get a little crazy, and Comic Con is no different. For those that have never been, this event can be rather intimidating as fans, stars, and geeks from all over come together often dressed in costume to enjoy all of the latest comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television. There are many panels and autograph sections where fans can interact with their favorite actors and creators. For those that need it, here is some simple advice to help you plan and survive this epic adventure. You can enjoy “Gotham” City even more with a New York Limo from Gotham Limos.

Plan Ahead

Comic Con is growing as year by year more people come and enjoy the unique atmosphere. The best advice you can get about getting a hotel for this event or tickets is to buy and book way in advanced. It can be difficult to find what you need, but never fear, cancelations happen. Tickets are being sold in waves, so check out the site and try to get you tickets as soon as possible. Dinner Reservations should likewise be made ahead of time, but maybe not 11 months in advance.

Another good idea is to look at the site and see what is going on. Some exhibits require tickets and buying those ahead is a good idea.

Bring Lots of Cash

Many of the venders at Comic Con accept credit and debit cards, but some do not. The ATM line can be horrendous so plan ahead and bring what you are willing to spend with you. On that note make sure that your cash is secure and stashed. Pickpockets are not a big problem, but it is important to be sensible and stay vigilant. No need to ruin your time with an unsuccessful trip to Lost and Found.

Plan on Public Transportation

Parking can be a real pain in New York already and with the massive flux of people it will be worse. Taking a taxi is an alternative, but if you are with friends there is no reason not to make the trip even more memorable with a New York Limo. You can even get a tour of the spots that inspired Bill Finger to name Batman’s city of residence Gotham City.  New York Times journalist William Safire described Gotham City as “New York below 14th Street, from SoHo to Greenwich Village, the Bowery,Little ItalyChinatown, and the sinister areas around the base of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges.”

Dress Comfortably

Costume aside, you will be standing and walking a lot. It is a daylong adventure and you will benefit from walking shoes and avoiding a wheel-cart or heavy backpack. In some exhibits they are even prohibited as they create a tripping hazard so be warned. If you must wear a light backpack with limited contents, remember anything you bring you are stuck with.

Comic Con is a great event to take part in and can be intimidating. These few pieces of advice can make the over-all trip less painful and overall more fun. Don’t forget Batman fans, Gotham City was conceptualized as New York City, and what could be a better way to view Gotham City than a New York Limo with Gotham Limos?
